Governance Officer
This is a newly created role to provide professional, responsive and confidential administrative and project support to the Director of Governance, Risk and Assurance Manager and wider governance team. The post holder will provide a solution focused approach to enhance the group's corporate governance, risk and assurance systems and processes.

This is a newly created role to provide professional, responsive and confidential administrative and project support to the Director of Governance, Risk and Assurance Manager and wider governance team. The post holder will provide a solution focused approach to enhance the group's corporate governance, risk and assurance systems and processes.
What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain a range of effective systems to record, monitor and report on board/committee membership, terms of office, attendance, declarations of eligibility, register of interests, skills audits and training/development.
- Co-ordinate board/committee member engagement activities including link governor arrangements across the group.
- Support the co-ordination of board/committee member induction, ongoing training and development and governance effectiveness reviews.
- Develop and maintain the annual governance calendar of meetings, events and reporting schedules.
- Manage the governance team inbox and outlook calendar, making all necessary arrangements for governance meetings and events.
- Maintain the governance page of the group/college websites and the governance portal, ensuring that information is up to date and relevant.
- Monitor and report on the governance budget and support the processing of board/committee member expense claims.
About You
- Have a minimum GCSE level A*-C or equivalent in English & Maths
- Experience of working in a busy office environment, both as part of a team and independently.
- A high-calibre, confident individual with ability to manage projects with high levels of autonomy and a proactive approach.
- Strong written and oral communication skills,
- Excellent IT skills
- Ability to prioritise and keep meet deadlines within a challenging environment
