Assessor - Teacher Education

This is an existing role of Assessor - Teacher Education here at University Centre (UC) Leeds to delivering and assesses teacher education on the Level 5 Learning skills teacher apprenticeships. This role plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of lectures within the post-14 sector.

This is an existing role of Assessor - Teacher Education here at University Centre (UC) Leeds to delivering and assesses teacher education on the Level 5 Learning skills teacher apprenticeships. This role plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of lectures within the post-14 sector.

You will be joining a dedicated and proactive team that is enthusiastic to provide innovative practitioners within the teaching profession.

The role will additionally involve visiting learners in the work place to assess their knowledge, skills and behaviours in practice. You will also be carrying out teaching observations with the apprenticeship cohorts.

What You Will Do

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons to apprentices
  • Assess learners practical abilities against the apprenticeship standards knowledge, skills and behaviours.
  • Assess and provide feedback on student progress.
  • Carry out teaching observations and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to enhance the overall learning experience

About You

  • Holds an Assessor award and a L5 Teaching Qualification (eg Cert Ed, PGCE).
  • Has recent experience as an assessor for apprenticeship framework, ideally assessing the Level 5 Learning Skills Teacher apprenticeship and / or experience working within FE setting.
  • Knowledge of current teaching practices and research to inform learners.
  • Reflective practitioner within your role.
