FULL DESCRIPTION
Our client, based in Glasgow are looking for experienced and time served candidates for a permanent role who are mechanical and electrical biased. Our client are a Scottish company within the Rail sector with scope for further training.
Mechanical/Electrical Fitter
The Nitty Gritty:
- Mainteance, fault finding and overhaul experience
- Permanent role
- SVQ/NVQ Level 3 mechanical or electrical – ESSENTIAL
- HNC OR NC – Mechanical or electrical – ESSENTIAL
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship – 3/4 years
- Subject to medical, drink/alcohol test and Disclosure Scotland
- Training – 6 months
- Pay Rate starts at £44,500 pa and then increase to £50,000 pa
- Basic hours are 35 per week
- Plenty of overtime available
- Shift work is 2 or 3 shift system, depending on site
- Final Salary Pension scheme

Finer Details:

Role:
- Carrying out general maintenance and fault finding and overhauling of machinery
- Work may be of a heavy engineering nature
- Recording all deferred work
- Following technical instructions
- Recording all information onto a computer system
- Undertake inspections and examinations
- Maintain a high level of Health & Safety
- Work is carried out on a shift basis once training period is over. There is a 2 or 3 shift system depending on site allocated to. Dayshift commences at 9am until 4pm on dayshift and 9pm to 6am on a nightshift. If working backshift this will be 2pm to 9pm. Weekends will be included in the shift rota.
- Overtime is paid above the basic rate and will vary depending on shift.
