Administrator – Commercial Team

The role involves providing administrative support to Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, including invoice reconciliation, cost assistance, and project valuation support. No prior experience in the Commercial or Highways sector is required, but a strong background in administration and a proactive work ethic are essential.

Overall Role Purpose:

[Employer hidden] is an established, independent and dynamic civil engineering company with 30 years of industry experience and expertise in public realm, regeneration and infrastructure projects.

We work with Councils, Local Authorities and Contractors in London, Essex, Cambridgeshire and the South East, delivering pioneering multi-million-pound trials and rollouts for large programmes and phased schemes through to smaller one-off projects.

[Employer hidden] has an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our growing Commercial Team. Based in Tottenham, you will work closely with our Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, offering administrative support across our projects. No experience in the Commercial or Highways sector is required but we are keen to find a quick learner with a strong background in administration and a fantastic team player with a proactive work ethic.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Providing general support and administrative assistance to the Commercial team
  • Learning to understand how to carry out on site measurements (training provided)
  • Reconciliation of weekly and monthly invoices
  • Assisting with weekly costing
  • Assisting with valuing of projects completed and any change management of projects
  • Supporting with completion of change management notifications such as early warnings and compensation events
  • Assistance with processing of subcontractor assessments and payment certificates
  • Assistance with production of data for month end reporting

Person specification:

  • A strong background in administration and project support
  • You must have an eye for detail and prioritise accuracy
  • You should be a logical thinker
  • Proactive, with the ability to work off own initiative
  • Strong IT skills including office suite (Excel, Word etc)
  • Experience in working with databases would be preferred
