Mechanical Technician
We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Technician to join a well-established engineering R&D company based in Bedford. The company is focusing on developing brand new disruptive technology which are helping to revolutionise high precision engineering companies in industries such as Aerospace, Space, Defence, Automotive, etc.
The Mechanical Technician will carry out inspections, fault-finding, maintenance and repairs of equipment (planned maintenance and during breakdown), installation of new equipment, implementation of improvements to the existing plant equipment, working in a compliance with Health and Safety procedures as well as security procedures.
Due to the nature of the work the successful candidate will need to satisfy security clearance requirements – including the last 5 years continual UK residency.
Mechanical Technician requirements:
- Recent and relevant experience in installing, maintaining and repairing industrial systems and plant equipment (high pressure compresses air systems, water cooling & treatment systems, lubrication/hydraulic systems, machinery, rotating components, linkages etc.)
- Understanding of quality standards and an excellent attention to detail.
- A team player with good communication skills and ability to support/mentor less experienced staff.
Location: Bedfordshire (commutable from Bedford, St. Neots, Luton, Royston, Milton Keynes, Cambridge etc.)
