  • Ensure comparability and consistency of reporting across listed, private, PE and VC investments.

  • Maintain and enhance group accounting and reporting policies relevant to investments.

Systems & IQEQ Oversight

  • Act as the internal owner of the investment reporting systems landscape, including IQEQ.
  • Ensure IQEQ is used effectively to its full capability, reducing spreadsheet dependency and improving speed, transparency and control.
  • Partner with IT and external providers on system enhancements, automation and reporting improvements (e.g. SAP / OneStream where relevant).

Audit, Valuation & Technical Matters

  • Support the Group Financial Controller on the day‑to‑day delivery of the statutory audits of the investment‑holding entities and the Consolidated Financial Statements, coordinating internal teams and external auditors.

Cash Flow, Covenants & Treasury Interface

  • Oversee investment‑related cash flow reporting and forecasting.
  • Support covenant reporting and monitoring (where relevant).
  • Partner with Treasury on intercompany funding structures and reporting.

Stakeholder Management & Leadership

  • Act as a key interface between the investment function, group finance, tax, treasury, company secretary and external advisors.
  • Manage and develop direct reports as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting quality, timeliness and relevance.

What you'll need to thrive:

Essential

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA), ideally with Big 4 experience.
  • Strong technical accounting background with excellent understanding of UK GAAP (FRS102) and IFRS.
  • Proven experience owning complex multi‑currency consolidations.

  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, decision‑useful investment reporting.
  • Strong systems capability and appetite for improving reporting through better tools and automation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience in transaction services, corporate finance or fund accounting roles.
  • Exposure to valuation methodologies and investment performance analytics.
  • Experience working in a family office, private investment office or complex group environment.

Personal Attributes

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Commercially minded, with a focus on insight rather than process for its own sake.
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with diverse investment types.
  • Collaborative, credible and able to challenge constructively.
