Southwark Music seeks Curriculum Music Tutors for work in Southwark Primary Schools. Tutors will deliver music curriculum tuition to children and young people of a wide range of musical abilities in a whole class or small group context.

The Role:
Southwark Music seeks Curriculum Music Tutors for work in Southwark Primary Schools
Tutors will deliver music curriculum tuition to children and young people of a wide range of musical abilities in a whole class or small group context
Key duties include:
- Plan, prepare, teach and evaluate whole class curriculum music lessons following Southwark Music’s scheme of work.
- Liaise with schools and Southwark Music regarding timetabling and progress of pupils and provide written assessments where necessary.
- Organise and take part in performance opportunities available to pupils and promote external performance opportunities.
- Foster positive relationships with members of staff and students and be familiar with the schools behaviour policy.
- Be responsible for having up-to-date knowledge of developments in teaching and instrumental learning and be able to implement these in lessons where appropriate.
- Ensure the general safety and wellbeing of pupils and report any concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
- Attend all training sessions and meetings required by Southwark Music.
About You:
The nature of the job requires initiative and a proactive approach as well as the ability to work under pressure.
Enhanced DBS required
Group music teaching experience with an excellent understanding of effective music education pedagogy.
Competence in singing and ability to teach a wide range of vocal styles

Additional salary details
Tutors will be paid directly by schools for their teaching. We recommend to schools that this is at a rate of £40 an hour.
Tutors will be paid by [Employer hidden] for all training and CPD at a rate of £25 an hour.
