FULL DESCRIPTION

Programme Officer

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is the largest local authority landlord in London, and as in all London boroughs there is an acute lack of truly affordable housing. Our council development programme is the most ambitious in London and is one of the council’s top priorities, having committed to building 11,000 new council homes by 2043 and 2,500 of those by May 2022. It’s a big goal, but crucial if we’re going to tackle the housing crisis and make sure our residents have quality homes they can be proud of, now and in the future. The New Homes Programme Office plays a pivotal role in this high-profile team, managing and monitoring the New Build programme of work to ensure it is on track and meeting the council’s ambitious targets. The Programme Office has a competent approach and keen eye for detail, monitoring budgetary, quality project milestones and specification requirements across the whole development team. The Programme Office also oversees the New Homes Transformation Board, which was recently set up to ensure the council has the right resources and plans in place to continue achieving its development targets through to 2043. This will be a temporary yet integral function to oversee the changes needed to meet the New Homes targets and transition them into business as usual. As Programme Officer, you will support the Strategic Programme Manager by working on systems, processes, milestones and budgets for the team. You will also support and drive the work of the Transformation Board, ensuring all work streams report their actions regularly, as well as monitoring their progress over time. You will support the Programme Office to provide effective and efficient governance and reporting, escalate risks and issues and promote cohesive working amongst board members. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven individual, with experience in project management and monitoring techniques. You will have the skills to address complex problems with creative solutions and have a solid understanding of financial reporting and business planning. You will have experience of monitoring programme performance, reporting key risks and issues and ensuring excellent, timely communications to all relevant stakeholders. You will have strong abilities in producing key management information, prioritising your own workload to meet deadlines, and working unsupervised. In your role, we want you to feel supported, challenged and rewarded. You will benefit from our family-friendly policies including flexible working, home working, and a local government pension scheme, plus many other staff benefits. You will join a motivated, driven and supportive team that strives for excellence and values its members. You will also be part of a successful and high-achieving development team that is making a real difference to the lives of residents in the borough.
