As part of our continued investment in the North West, we are seeking an Appointment‑Taking Director to join our Manchester Corporate Restructuring & Advisory team. This is a senior role for an ambitious individual who wishes to grow a business, build long‑term client relationships and be part of a clear succession plan within the firm.

The Opportunity
As part of our continued investment in the North West, we are seeking an Appointment‑Taking Director to join our Manchester Corporate Restructuring & Advisory team. This is a senior role for an ambitious individual who wishes to grow a business, build long‑term client relationships and be part of a clear succession plan within the firm.
The successful candidate will work closely with the existing Partner group nationally, with the opportunity over time to inherit and develop client relationships, referral networks and introducer contacts and to play a central role in shaping the future leadership of the business.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Appointment‑Taking Director will be responsible for: • Taking formal insolvency and restructuring appointments • Originating and developing advisory and insolvency work • Strengthening [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk]’s presence in the Manchester and wider North West market • Supporting the long‑term succession and continuity of the practice
Business Development & Work Winning • Originate new restructuring and insolvency instructions through existing networks, introducers and professional referrers • Further develop relationships with banks, ABLs, private equity, lawyers and other advisors • Act as an appointment‑taker across corporate insolvency and advisory engagements • Represent [Employer hidden] in the local market, enhancing brand presence and profile
Client & Case Leadership • Lead complex advisory and insolvency assignments, ensuring delivery to the highest professional and technical standards • Provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice to directors, lenders and stakeholders • Oversee case strategy, risk management and statutory compliance
Succession & Practice Growth • Work collaboratively with the existing Partner group to support succession planning • Develop and take ownership of client and introducer relationships over time • Contribute to the strategic direction and continued growth of the national Advisory practice
People & Culture • Mentor and develop senior managers and future leaders within the team • Promote a culture of technical excellence, collaboration and professional integrity • Act as a role model for firm values and professional behaviour
Person Specification
Qualifications • JIEB – essential • ACA or ACCA qualified – highly desirable
Experience • Proven appointment‑taking experience within restructuring, advisory and/or insolvency • Demonstrable work‑winning capability, or an established network of potential referrers • Strong technical knowledge and a commitment to professional and regulatory compliance
