You will play a pivotal role in the supply chain operations, ensuring the smooth procurement of materials and efficient management of inventory levels. You'll be responsible for sourcing high-quality materials at competitive prices, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and maintaining optimal stock levels to support production schedules.
Description of the role:
- Procure materials and components in line with production requirements.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and pricing.
- Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimise excess or obsolete stock.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and plan purchasing activities.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and supplier performance.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders in a timely manner.
- Continuously optimise procurement processes to drive efficiency and cost savings.
- Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to inform purchasing decisions.
About you:
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or materials management.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office and inventory management software
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
