As a Shunter you will be responsible for fuelling, parking and cleaning up our new fleet of state of the art buses. This is a great opportunity for someone to join a great working environment as part of the Engineering dream team and partnering with the wider team at our Wythenshawe depot.

| Contract: Permanent full time 38 hours per week Pay: £12.60 going to £14.03 from April 2026 Location: Wythenshawe depot, M23 9ET As a Shunter you will be responsible for fuelling, parking and cleaning up our new fleet of state of the art buses. This is a great opportunity for someone to join a great working environment as part of the Engineering dream team and partnering with the wider team at our Wythenshawe depot. Main Responsibilities - Safely manoeuvre buses around the depot, including parking, positioning for fuel, wash, and maintenance. - Operate depot equipment such as fuelling stations, bus washes, and cleaning tools. - Carry out interior and exterior cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, litter removal, and sanitising passenger areas. - Check fluid levels, fuel levels, and basic vehicle condition, reporting any defects promptly. - Ensure all vehicles are prepared and ready for service according to company standards. - Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised working environment. |

Essential Criteria
- Cleaning techniques including the safe use of mechanical and manual equipment
- An understanding of relevant safe working practices as required by COSHH regulations including the safe storage and disposal of highly corrosive and toxic materials

Desirable Criteria
- The post holder should possess or be willing to obtain a suitable qualification (e.g. NVQ level 1)
- A driving licence (preferably PCV) would be desirable
Hours of Work
17:00-01:30 5 days out of 7 including weekends
Rate of pay
£12.60 Rising to £14.03 from 1st of April 2026
