Risk, Control and Governance Manager

Full time - 37.5 hours per week. £65k - £70k DOE. We try to consider all types of flexibility, including locations, hours and working patterns. About the job

As Risk, Control and Product Governance Manager, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our products are designed, managed and governed in a way that is compliant, customer‑focused and commercially sound. Working across UKI Product, Proposition and Transformation, you'll strengthen our product governance, risk and control frameworks, supporting the development of innovative healthcare products that meet regulatory requirements and deliver good customer outcomes. You'll partner closely with Product, Pricing, Marketing, Operations and Risk teams, providing confident oversight and insight across the full product lifecycle.

How you'll help us make health happen:

  • Own and strengthen risk, control and governance across the product lifecycle, ensuring good customer and regulatory outcomes.
  • Embed clear governance and risk controls into product design, delivery and in‑life management.
  • Lead key product governance forums, supporting effective decision‑making and accountability.
  • Identify, assess and manage product‑related risks, incidents and issues, driving timely resolution and learning.
  • Maintain clear risk reporting and dashboards, providing insight and assurance to senior stakeholders.
  • Partner with Product, Pricing, Operations and Risk teams to ensure governance supports innovation as well as compliance.
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing governance and controls team, building capability and confidence across the function.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

Essential

  • Strong experience in risk governance, controls and incident management, including root cause analysis and remediation planning.
  • Experience working within a complex, regulated environment, where strong governance and assurance are critical.
  • 3+ years' relevant experience in risk, governance, controls or incident management roles.
  • Experience supporting product governance and/or incident management within a product‑led environment.
  • Ability to analyse performance, risk and incident data to identify trends and drive meaningful improvements.
  • Clear understanding of how governance and controls support good customer, regulatory and commercial outcomes.

Desirable

  • Line management or people leadership experience.
  • Background in healthcare, insurance, financial services or similarly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of life and/or health regulation.

  • Clear, confident communication skills, including presenting to senior and executive‑level stakeholders.

  • The ability to balance technical detail with clear, concise summaries for senior audiences.
