Job Role

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Thrive and Personal Development Tutor to play a pivotal role in supporting our learners. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by shaping learners’ aspirations, promoting positive behaviours and attitudes, and supporting progression to employment, Higher Education or apprenticeships. You will deliver engaging Thrive tutorial sessions, provide personalised guidance and 1:1 support, and work closely with learners, colleagues, parents and external partners to ensure students are fully prepared for life beyond their course. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver weekly Thrive and Personal Development tutorial sessions tailored to learner needs, interests and abilities.
  • Provide Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to support learner progression into employment, apprenticeships or Higher Education.
  • Manage a caseload of students, offering regular 1:1 support, mentoring and intervention where required.
  • Monitor and support attendance, behaviour and engagement, maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support learners with UCAS applications, CV preparation, apprenticeship applications and interview readiness.
  • Liaise with parents, guardians, employers and external agencies as required.
  • Encourage enrichment opportunities and promote personal development beyond the curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate records and tracking information in line with [Employer hidden] requirements.
  • Actively contribute to safeguarding, equality, diversity and learner wellbeing initiatives.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

You will have:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with young people, learners or students in an educational or similar setting.

Desirable:

  • Careers, Advice & Guidance qualification.
  • Coaching or mentoring qualification.
  • Experience providing pastoral support, wellbeing support or personal tutoring.
  • Effective experience working with external agencies.
  • A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.

You will demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge of post‑16 progression routes, including apprenticeships and Higher Education.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence delivering group sessions and 1:1 support.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A commitment to evidence‑based approaches to personal development and learner support.
