Job Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join our Construction department at [Employer hidden]. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced electrical professional who is passionate about developing the next generation of skilled electricians.
You will deliver high‑quality teaching across Electrical Installation programmes, combining strong vocational knowledge with engaging and inclusive teaching practice to inspire learners and support excellent outcomes. You will also play an active role in curriculum development and continuous improvement within this vital trade area.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality Electrical Installation programmes that meet learner needs, interests and abilities.
- Create a safe, inclusive and motivating learning environment that promotes engagement and achievement.
- Use a range of teaching strategies and resources aligned with best practice and industry standards.
- Plan and deliver assessment programmes in line with [Employer hidden] standards and awarding body requirements.
- Use diagnostic assessment to identify learner strengths and development needs, implementing timely interventions.
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance processes, including awarding body visits and inspections.
- Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress, assessment and achievement.
- Support learners beyond the classroom, including availability outside the teaching day when reasonably required.
- Actively engage in professional development and industrial updating to maintain curriculum relevance.
- Contribute to course team meetings, curriculum development and recruitment activities, including open events.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
You will have:
- A minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation.
- Qualified teacher status or a willingness to work towards a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE supported).
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
- Assessor Level 3 and Verifier Level 4 qualifications, or willingness to work towards these.
Desirable:
- Experience teaching Electrical Installation within Further Education or training environments.
- Current awareness of sector developments and emerging industry practices.
- Knowledge of progression routes and career opportunities within the electrical sector for 16–18 and adult learners.
You will also demonstrate:
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence in managing learner behaviour positively and effectively.
- The ability to create high‑quality teaching materials using ILT and digital platforms such as VLEs and PowerPoint.
