Job Title: Business Administration Apprentice Level 3
Department: Health and Social Care
Reporting to: Associate Director, Health & Care
Salary: £15,433.44 per annum for first 12 months rising to National Minimum Wage for Age
Annual Leave: 30 days per annum plus bank holidays
Contractual hours: 37 hours per week
Basis: Apprenticeship Contract, Fixed Term, Duration 21 months

The Role
The Business Administration Apprentice will provide high‑quality administrative support to the Health & Social Care department, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the department. Working closely with staff across the team, the post holder will assist with a variety of tasks including data entry, record management, preparation of documentation, handling enquiries, and supporting day‑to‑day office functions. This apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to develop strong administrative, organisational, and communication skills within a fast‑paced Health & Social Care environment. Through hands‑on experience, training, and mentorship, the apprentice will gain a valuable understanding of departmental processes, support systems, and the wider responsibilities involved in delivering high‑quality education and services within the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out accurate data input and assist with preparing reports.
- Handle incoming telephone calls and other communications, ensuring messages are passed on promptly and professionally.
- Manage general filing duties, including organising both electronic and paper‑based correspondence for the Department.
- Support staff with the preparation of learning materials.
- Maintain and update Department notice boards.
- Assist with enrolment activities during key periods.
- Provide support in welcoming and receiving visitors to the Department.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- At least 3 GCSEs, including Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic IT skills.
- Good personal presentation skills.
