Full job description

Huggins Lewis Foskett is a well-established regional law firm based in South Woodford, comprising approximately 40 professionals. We have a strong reputation in property law, with a particularly busy and expanding commercial conveyancing team.

We are seeking a junior lawyer (minimum 2 years’ experience) or an experienced paralegal to join our Commercial Conveyancing team. This role offers the opportunity to handle your own caseload with appropriate supervision in a fast-paced environment, with strong billing potential and clear opportunities for progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of commercial and residential property matters
  • Handling bridging finance transactions
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial leases
  • Liaising with and acting for lenders
  • Dealing with residential plot sales (sales side)
  • Managing portfolio transactions
  • Handling commercial and residential property finance matters
  • Dealing with leasehold sales and purchases
  • Assisting with and handling auction purchases where applicable
  • Preparing client reports with support where required

Technical Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Practical Law Company (PLC) resources and precedents
  • Experience using standard OEA precedents
  • Ability to draft board minutes, resolutions, and director certificates
  • General understanding of corporate support work linked to property transactions
  • Some familiarity with AI software is desirable

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience (or equivalent as a senior paralegal)
  • Able to manage a caseload with a degree of independence
  • Highly organised, proactive, and responsive
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
  • Personable and confident in dealing with clients
