About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior Technical Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in shaping technology solutions that drive real business impact within the Client organisation.

The Client operates within the UK life and pensions sector, with a long‑established heritage and a clear purpose: helping people live financially confident lives by protecting income during working years and maximising it in retirement. Over one million members and customers trust the Client to support their futures, families and finances.

Joining the Client means becoming part of an organisation that places customers, members and advisers at the heart of everything it does. The Client is committed to fostering an inclusive culture where colleagues can thrive, feel respected, supported and valued.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders to influence strategic decisions, lead requirements gathering for complex initiatives, and translate business needs into clear, effective technical specifications.

If you thrive on collaboration, problem‑solving and turning ideas into actionable solutions, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

This role is offered on a permanent basis, with a requirement for regular presence in the Bournemouth office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic analysis and support for business case development, including feasibility studies and benefits definition.
  • Lead scoping and requirements workshops for complex initiatives, engaging senior stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, the Data Office and technology teams to elicit, document and refine business requirements and acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment with architectural, data, development and testing standards.
  • Act as a critical bridge between business needs and technical solutions, translating requirements into clear technical specifications that deliver measurable business value.
  • Conduct gap analysis and impact assessments, translating findings into well‑defined requirements through independent analysis and collaborative workshops with technical colleagues.
  • Create data requirements within agile frameworks that enable engineering teams to deliver efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to junior members of the team.

About You

  • Proven experience delivering business analysis across complex projects and programmes spanning multiple domains and business functions.
  • Strong capability in applying advanced business analysis techniques and methodologies to complex scenarios, using tools effectively to optimise delivery outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with databases and cloud data platforms, including data governance practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data modelling, data mapping and solutions architecture, with experience in Data Lakehouse environments.
  • Experience using Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools including Jira, Confluence and Azure DevOps (AzDo).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills, with strong senior and executive stakeholder management experience.
  • Commercially aware, with experience managing internal and external delivery partners.
  • Proven experience acting as a Product Owner, managing the full product lifecycle from inception through to delivery.
