The role involves all normal duties and responsibilities associated with a list holding salaried GP working within Primary Care, including consultations, home visits, prescribing, and patient care. Summary
Sunnyside is a well-established, friendly, flexible and responsive surgery serving around 6700 patients in a semi-rural location in the coastal town of Penzance, West Cornwall. We are situated just off the A30 with good links to St Ives, Truro and Falmouth and a great choice of excellent schools, housing and local facilities nearby with many beautiful beaches and coastal walks on our doorstep to support the outdoor life.
We are looking for a Salaried GP to join our team
We are located in purpose-built premises in Penzance built in February 2019 with two other practices. St Clare Medical Centre includes an on-site Pharmacy and a dedicated Minor-operations Suite in the private wing.
This fantastic building gives us the opportunity to continue to provide excellent care to our patients, but also to work innovatively with neighbouring practices and other healthcare professionals. . We are creative about how we meet the challenges facing the NHS and were one of the first surgeries locally to introduce full accuRx triage system which has helped manage the demands on primary care whilst maintaining work-life balance.

Practice Information
• List size 6700 –3 GP Partners, 1 Advanced Nurse Partner, 2 Salaried GPs,
• AIC Team – 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioner sessions a week and 4 Nurse Prescriber sessions a week
• Nurse Team includes – 3 Practice Nurses, 1 Assistant Practitioner (with an interest in Dementia Care)
and 3 HCAs
• 3 GP Registrars
• Teaching practice with undergraduate and postgraduate trainees
• Total total system in place since 2024 using AccuRx
• Member of the forward thinking and dynamic West Penwith PCN.
• CQC Rating – Good
• Supporting ARRS roles attached to the practice include:- Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician,
First Contact Physio, Social Prescribing Link Worker, Mental Health Hub Team and Health and Wellbeing Coach

The post-holder will be a list holder and will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a list holding salaried GP working within Primary Care.
o surgery consultations
o telephone consultations
o home visits,
o repeat prescriptions
o test results, patient
o medical reports and examinations
o referral letters
o Duty Doctor Days on a rota basis
o Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems
o Recording clear and contemporaneous IT based consultation notes to agreed standards.
o Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines.
•The post-holder shall maintain an appropriate level of continuing professional development to ensure that the requirements of appraisal and revalidation are met.
• The post holder shall be registered with the GMC, and on the NHS Performers List
• Performance shall be reviewed regularly and the range of duties may be revised in consultation with the post-holder to reflect ability and provide opportunity for personal development.
• In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a list holding salaried GP working within Primary Care.
