Due to recent retirements, we are looking for two enthusiastic list holding GPs to join our friendly, relaxed and supportive team in mid-Cornwall, working 6 or more sessions each per week. We are a dispensing practice located over three sites, serving 13,500 patients in the most deprived population in the county.

Summary
Due to recent retirements, we are looking for two enthusiastic list holding GPs to join our friendly, relaxed and supportive team in mid-Cornwall, working 6 or more sessions each per week.
We are a dispensing practice located over three sites, serving 13,500 patients in the most deprived population in the county. We consistently receive very positive patient feedback and take pride in the strong relationships we have with our community.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly, easy-going but motivated, collaborative practice, open to new ideas for quality improvement and different ways of working. We actively encourage colleagues to contribute to developing and refining how we deliver care. We also try and practice as near to a traditional model of GP working as possible while still embracing innovation where it benefits patients and staff.
Posts can be offered as salaried, or salaried with a view to partnership for the right candidates.
About us:
• 7 GPs, 1 GP Registrar, 3 Paramedics, 1 ACP, 1 Paediatric Nurse, 2 clinical pharmacists, 3 pharmacy technicians, 2 practice nurses, 4 HCAs, 2 First Contact Physios, 2 Care Coordinators and a Social Prescriber
• Active teaching practice with GP, nursing and paramedic students
• Consistently high QoF achievers
• Members of Arbennek PCN and Cornwall Deep End
• Located in central Cornwall, all three sites are approx. 5 minutes off the A30, making it easily commutable from most places in the county.

We are seeking GPs who:
• Are committed to providing the best possible care for our patients
• Are keen to contribute to and shape new ways of working
• Enjoy being part of a collaborative, approachable team
• Are interested in developing clinical, teaching or organisational interests that support the practice and our population
• Is registered with the GMC, is on the NHS Performers List and has the Right to Work in the UK

Main duties:
a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b. The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
d. Effective management of long-term conditions, including care planning
e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
f. Undertake surgery consultations, telephone/remote consultations and electronic queries and visiting patients at home.
g. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
h. Maintain accurate contemporaneous clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance using read-coding where appropriate
i. Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
j. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
k. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
l. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
m. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
n. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training
o. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relating to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other HCP within the organisation
p. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
q. Prepare and complete the revalidation process
r. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
s. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income & reduce expenditure
t. Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies
u. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement
Secondary duties:
a. Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead
b. Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
c. Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
d. Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e., root cause analysis (RCA)
