Network & Systems Automation Engineer

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] seeks a Network & Systems Automation Engineer to help with its forthcoming expansion and Integration projects. The position reports to the senior Director of Engineering. Primary responsibilities will be to maintain existing automation tooling, Architect and build new automation tooling for use on the [Employer hidden] Network and Systems infrastructure and to guide existing [Employer hidden] engineers how to become more efficient in their problem solving. Tooling will be used for both internal users and customers.

The Role

[Employer hidden] seeks a Network & Systems Automation Engineer to help with its forthcoming expansion and Integration projects. The position reports to the senior Director of Engineering. Primary responsibilities will be to maintain existing automation tooling, Architect and build new automation tooling for use on the [Employer hidden] Network and Systems infrastructure and to guide existing [Employer hidden] engineers how to become more efficient in their problem solving. Tooling will be used for both internal users and customers. Current projects include: Core network configuration deployment, Network Service Definition, System security testing and hardening, Campus switch management system. Future projects include: Automated global traffic engineering system, Custom built perimeter IDS solution, Automatic public cloud connectivity deployment, “Self-Healing” fault finding built on Network and System monitoring metrics, Automated provisioning of services across private virtualisation estate [Employer hidden] has a mixed discipline Engineering team consisting of Network Engineers, Systems Engineers and Automation Engineers. Every member of the team writes Python on a daily basis with an overall design philosophy of loosely coupled systems with common interfaces. This position is based at [Employer hidden]’s offices in Soho however [Employer hidden] are also flexible with working from home. We also have operations in Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver, Atlanta, Miami and Sydney.

Responsibilities

  • Automation suites such as Puppet, Ansible or Napalm
  • Strong skills in Python
  • Experience using Python web frameworks including Django
  • REST API usage and design
  • Metric and log aggregation using Graphite and ELK
  • Understanding of service provider service provisioning and management
  • Understanding of version control systems (git, svn)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD Pipelines
  • Datastructure Design
  • Salesforce/CRM Integration
