FULL DESCRIPTION

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Bucket Collection Volunteer to raise money and awareness through bucket collections. Volunteers represent the Hospice, collect cash and card donations, and provide basic information about the Hospice.

We need you!

With limited NHS funding, we need to raise more than 70% of our annual costs to provide our vital services; in 2024/2025 the running costs of our charity are expected to be £8.1 million.

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic individual to join our Hospice team as a Bucket Collection Volunteer, to help raise money and awareness of [Employer hidden] through our bucket collections.

As a Bucket Collection Volunteer you will be an ambassador for the Hospice and work within a team of volunteers to raise vital funds within the local community.

You can volunteer by yourself, or with friends, family, or colleagues – the more the merrier!

By donating a small amount of your time, you will help St Clare to continue providing specialist palliative care to improve the lives of people affected by a life-limiting illness in West Essex and the borders of East Hertfordshire.

What are the key tasks of a St Clare Bucket Collection Volunteer?

  • To support a bucket collection in areas assigned by the Community Fundraiser on certain dates and for a specific time period.
  • Collecting cash donations and taking card payments from the public who wish to give. Handling cash donations securely.
  • Representing [Employer hidden] with professionalism, enthusiasm, and with a positive attitude.
  • Handing over buckets and equipment to other Bucket Collection Volunteers who are taking over your shift and/or Fundraising staff at the end of a shift.
  • Provide occasional light information about the Hospice to anyone that enquires and refer them to the correct member of staff should they have any questions that need answering.
  • Maintaining a smart appearance, always making sure to wear your volunteer ID badge.

What skills, experience or personal qualities will I need as a Bucket Collection Volunteer?

  • Access to a vehicle.
  • Happy to be on your feet for a period of time.
  • Must be aged over 16 or over, and have photo ID.
  • Be polite and have good communication skills.
  • Accept rejection and don’t take it personally.
  • Be reliable, committed, and trustworthy.
