FULL DESCRIPTION
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Private Client Tax – Senior Manager to advise high-net-worth individuals on UK private client tax matters. The role involves providing tax compliance and advisory services, managing client relationships, and contributing to team leadership and business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality UK tax compliance and advisory services to HNW and UHNW clients, including UK residents, non-residents, and individuals claiming the new Foreign Income and Gains regime.
- Advise on: – Income tax and capital gains tax planning – Inheritance tax and succession strategies – Residence – Pre-arrival and departure planning – Structuring family wealth and intergenerational transfers
- Support clients with international wealth and investments, reflecting [Employer hidden]’s expertise in cross-border advisory services.
- Manage the delivery and review of UK personal tax returns, trust tax returns, and related computations.
- Oversee work arising from [Employer hidden]’s tax compliance service lines.
- Keep abreast of UK tax legislation, HMRC guidance and reporting obligations (FATCA/CRS where relevant).
Client Relationship Management
- Act as primary point of contact for a portfolio of private clients, providing proactive guidance and maintaining long-term trusted relationships.
- Collaborate with trustees, investment managers, legal advisers and external intermediaries, where appropriate.
- Represent [Employer hidden]’s values of tailored service and technical excellence.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, supporting their technical development and training.
- Assist the Head of Tax and UK directors in shaping the growth of the UK tax team.
- Foster a collaborative culture across [Employer hidden]’s multi-office UK network.
Business Development
- Identify opportunities to expand advisory work from existing client relationships.
- Contribute to internal thought leadership, updates, and client communications.
- Support [Employer hidden]’s market-facing activities and professional networking.
Skills & Experience Required
- CTA, ATT or equivalent professional qualification.
- Significant experience (typically 5–8+ years) in UK private client tax focused role.
- Strong technical understanding of UK taxation of individuals, trusts and estates, supported by knowledge of international aspects affecting globally mobile clients.
- Ability to manage a client portfolio independently, with high attention to detail.
