Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all payroll operations across the Company in UK and ROI jurisdictions.
Specific duties will include:
- Supervise and support payroll staff, providing guidance and training where necessary.
- Review and approval of payroll calculations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments.
- Oversee maintenance of payroll records and systems, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations (PAYE, NIC etc) including accurate, timely reporting and payment to HMRC and Revenue.
- Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary updates to procedures.
- Oversee and fulfil obligations related to the organisation’s pension schemes including enrolment, record maintenance, processing and payment of contributions to scheme administrators.
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end processes including liaising with internal and external auditors.
- Co-ordinate with HR and Finance to ensure seamless data flow and compliance.
- Support payroll system development and direct system testing.
The ideal applicant will meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience in payroll administration, with prior supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred.
- Thorough understanding of payroll system and processes, relevant legislations and statutory obligations (NI and ROI jurisdictions).
- Proficient in the use of payroll software and Microsoft Office applications (knowledge of Mega Pay and/or SAP SuccessFactors desirable).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills as well as keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential employee and company information with integrity.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
