What does the PIP Disability Assessor role involve?
The Disability Assessor role will involve you carrying out 3 client assessments per day assessing clients seeking PIP (Personal Independence Payment). A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects their daily life. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That’s the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don’t. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a well-established, people focussed organisation. You’ll receive outstanding training and support to ensure you are the best you can be in your new Disability Assessor role!
What we look for;
An NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience
Someone who’s proactive and keen to learn
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Competent IT and computer skills
Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health
