What You'll Positively Impact:

  • Full ownership of content quality across your markets.
  • Mentoring, nurturing and coaching your team to drive their performance, ensuring they deliver at pace and to standard.
  • KPI tracking and accountability, embedding metrics into daily work.
  • Operational excellence in task planning, commitments, and OKRs.
  • Workflow optimisations, including BAU streams, AI opportunities, and content freshness strategies.
  • Work closely with our Content Managers to ensure Best In Class content is shipped, this could be through developing SEO guides, aligning best practices or getting hands-on to suggest improvements.

  • In terms of technical skills for the Managing Editor role, you ideally bring:
  • A strong managerial toolkit, understanding how to best lead your team members to unlock the most of their potential. You’ll have experience coaching, developing, mentoring and leading others development plans.
  • An extensive track record of writing and editing high-quality content, boosting user engagement and organic traffic for English-speaking markets.
  • Additional languages, especially German, would be especially helpful.
  • Proven experience as a process builder - you’ll have set up new guidelines and processes to help drive team performance. Ideally, using AI and automation to ship quality content at velocity.
  • Demonstrable experience of using SEO tools [like SEMRush, AHREFS] and Content Performance tools [like GA4] to boost user engagement and organic traffic. More details here

For this role as a Managing Editor, you will have multiple chances to progress further with us over time.

We can’t make any iron-clad promises as to timelines, as more senior roles are unlocked by us reaching our organisational targets. But an example could include growing into a Head of Content role taking ownership of multiple markets through a team of Managing Editors.

Once you’ve finished onboarding, we will make an IDP together, helping you reach your long-term career ambitions.
