SEMH Support Assistant

You’ll support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs across lessons and structured intervention sessions. You’ll help pupils regulate emotions, follow routines, and re-engage with learning. Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff, you’ll contribute to personalised support plans designed to improve confidence, resilience, and classroom participation.

You’ll support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs across lessons and structured intervention sessions. You’ll help pupils regulate emotions, follow routines, and re-engage with learning. Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff, you’ll contribute to personalised support plans designed to improve confidence, resilience, and classroom participation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group SEMH support.
  • Reinforce emotional regulation strategies and routines.
  • Assist with behaviour support plans and interventions.
  • Monitor pupil progress and communicate updates with staff.

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs.
  • Calm communication style and strong relationship-building skills.
