About the Role
Queens Park Group Surgery is seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Finance Assistant to join our committed and supportive practice team. This is a key administrative role within the surgery, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes. We are happy to consider applicants on a full or part-time basis, ideally between 25 to 37.5 hours per week.
Main Duties of the Job
- Accurately enter and maintain all financial data using Xero
- Process supplier invoices, payments, purchase orders, and bank reconciliations
- Produce monthly financial reports for the Partners and management team
- Assist with payroll preparation and liaise with payroll providers where required
- Support annual financial audit processes and ensure records remain audit‑ready
- Manage and submit income claims through CQRS
- Work closely with the Practice Manager and Deputy Finance Manager on budgeting and expenditure
- Liaise with internal staff, suppliers, accountants, and other relevant bodies
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality and adhere to practice financial procedures.
About the Candidate
- Experience working in a General Practice or NHS primary care finance role
- Strong proficiency with Xero accounting software
- Experience using CQRS to manage and submit income claims
- Excellent accuracy, numerical skills, and attention to detail
- Confident IT skills, including Excel and report preparation
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Professional, reliable, and discreet
