The role involves building and shipping forecasting, benchmarking, and research products for customers, requiring experience in power markets, strong Python proficiency, and familiarity with GB and European power markets. The Role
We're hiring a Market Analyst to join our GB team - [Employer hidden]'s largest and most established region. You'll build and ship the forecast, benchmarking, and research products our customers rely on to value assets like battery energy storage and solar. You'll have real responsibility and direct customer interaction from day one.
What You'll Do
- Source, process, and interpret complex energy datasets to drive forecasting and research
- Build and ship power market and dispatch models that value electrification assets across GB
- Translate technical analysis into clear, compelling narratives for customers and colleagues
- Work closely with engineering teams to integrate models into the [Employer hidden] Terminal
- Use AI tools throughout your workflow to accelerate analysis and ship faster
What We're Looking For
The Essentials
- Degree in a quantitative field - mathematics, engineering, physics, computer science, or similar
- 3–5 years of experience in power markets, ideally across price forecasting, dispatch, and optimisation
- Strong Python proficiency; comfortable with NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy (R or C++ also considered)
- Familiarity with GB and European power markets, including renewables and market design
- Active user of AI tools to build models, run analysis, or ship products
Nice To Have
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS or equivalent)
- Familiarity with linear programming and optimisation frameworks
- Experience integrating analytical models into customer-facing data products
