FULL DESCRIPTION

Payroll Technician

Seeking a payroll specialist to provide full end to end technical processing support and advice to our payroll clients.

Job Purpose

The role is to support the Company in the delivery of its payroll support to clients across the UK by processing payrolls and providing technical support and advice for our clients.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end processing of clients’ weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Set up Bacs payments for salaries and HMRC payments
  • Upload pension contributions using different scheme providers
  • Update and maintain all payroll records as processed
  • To liaise with key contacts for clients on payroll related queries
  • Undertake payroll administration including setting up new starters, HMRC tax codes changes and student loan updates
  • Calculate termination payments, statutory sickness, maternity, paternity, shared paternal leave and adoption payments
  • Assist with producing P11d’s
  • Process salary increases and calculation of back pay as necessary
  • Process month end RTI submissions and reconciliation of client’s government gateway account
  • End of Year processing and reconciliations including end of year RTI submissions and issue of P60’s

Person Specification

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • Ideally CIPP qualified or working towards
  • 2 – 5 years’ previous experience in running multiple payrolls
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all payroll processes
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Flexibility to be able to work on own initiative and within a team
  • Experience in using payroll systems (we currently use SAGE)
  • Demonstrable experience in managing employee and client queries
  • Experience of processing payments and pension uploads
  • Excellent communication skills with staff at all levels

Hours: 9.00 - 5.30 pm (40 hpw).
Location: Home or Hybrid working with occasional attendance at Kettering office
