FULL DESCRIPTION

The CNC Machinist will be responsible for manufacturing manifolds, filter components, and associated tooling. Key responsibilities include setting and operating CNC Turn/Mill equipment, loading and running CNC programs, performing inspection operations, optimizing machine programs, and ensuring quality standards are met. The role is based in Witney, Oxfordshire.

Reporting directly to the Machine Shop Manager, the successful candidate will work within a small team and be responsible for the manufacture of manifolds, filter components, and associated tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting and operating CNC Turn/Mill equipment predominantly with occasional requirement to do the same on 4 axis horizontal mills, machining high tolerance components.
  • Loading and running CNC programs through to operation prove out.
  • Perform 1st off and subsequent inspection operations.
  • Optimise machine programs and machining operation process ensuring consistent quality and production targets.
  • Loading and operating machines to meet desired quantities, conducting in-process inspection.
  • Ensure all work produced is to the minimum current Quality Assurance Standards and in line with HYDAC works procedures.
  • Manufacture components to production plan.
  • Meeting delivery requirements.
  • Assisting in stock control of materials, tooling, and consumables.
  • Maintain and complete all documentation for all production work, as required.
  • Keeping machines and workshop clean, maintained and a strong emphasis on good housekeeping.
  • Perform daily/weekly routine machine maintenance checks.
  • Assist in other Production duties as required.
  • Observe all site Health and Safety requirements.
  • Management may, from time to time, require you to carry out other tasks in addition to your normal duties, provided these tasks are both reasonable and within your capabilities.

The candidate will ideally:

  • Have an HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience of machining Duplex steels, carbon steels, and aluminium alloys.
  • Strong background in CNC Mill/Turn machining in aerospace or similar high-precision industries
  • Experience working to tolerances.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience of reading and understanding engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Proficiency in a range of measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
  • Experience of working in a Production Environment.
  • Experience in producing high quality close tolerance machined components.
  • Experience of working with quality procedures.
  • Mechanically minded.
  • Work with minimal supervision using own initiative as required.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Computer literate.

Full training will be given on the range of HYDAC products and services.

Hours of Work:

The CNC Machinist will work Monday to Thursday 07:00 to 15:30 with a half an hour for lunch and Friday 07:00 to 12:30. (37.5 hours a week).

The role will be based at our UK headquarters in Witney, Oxfordshire.
