FULL DESCRIPTION

Our Legal Advisors within the Serious Injury Team provide an essential service to our loyal client base who have suffered the more serious injuries, progressing their personal injury claims from initial instruction to resolution, following allocation from the Client Care Team.

Role Purpose

Our Legal Advisors within the Serious Injury Team provide an essential service to our loyal client base who have suffered the more serious injuries, progressing their personal injury claims from initial instruction to resolution, following allocation from the Client Care Team.

Our fee earners manage a caseload of personal injury claims, supervising Paralegals in their support, liaising with third parties, negotiating settlements, preparing cases for litigation and ultimately focusing on delivering high-quality legal work to achieve positive outcomes for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of multi-track personal injury claims for clients with serious injuries.
  • Applying for, obtaining, and reviewing all medical records.
  • Assisting with providing clients with updates.
  • Working with Police Forces to obtain Police Reports, CCTV & Evidence.
  • Contacting witnesses to secure their co-operation.
  • Obtaining documents in support of special damages.
  • Ensuring clients attend medical examinations.
  • Negotiating settlements, including effective communications with third parties.
  • Managing all medical records on file so they are bundled and ready to send with medical expert instructions.
  • Applying strategic analysis of factors including prospects of success to manage the file with the client’s bests interests in mind.
  • Preparing cases for litigation, including the preparation of Court Bundles.
  • Attending court hearings to assist Counsel.
  • Apply legal analysis, with reference to case law and statutory guidance where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Ensure effective communication with colleagues.
  • Prioritise effectively under pressure.
  • Identify and champion business improvement opportunities.

Experience & Requirements

  • Previous experience in handling multi-track personal injury casework is essential.
  • Exceptional standard of both legal work and client care.
  • Exceptional telephone manner.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work as a team and encourage a strong sense of team ethos within a team.
