Housing Officer

Join a leading housing association as Housing Officer to provide a high-quality housing management service to residents. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional passionate about supporting tenants and delivering excellent customer service within the social housing sector.

Core focus of the role

As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of tenancies, ensuring compliance with tenancy agreements, and supporting residents to maintain their homes. You will work closely with colleagues across housing management, repairs, and tenancy enforcement teams to deliver a safe, secure, and well-managed housing service.

Day-to-day of the role

  • Manage a caseload of tenants and leaseholders, providing advice and support on tenancy rights, obligations, and housing services.
  • Conduct tenancy visits and inspections, ensuring properties are well-maintained and residents are complying with their tenancy agreements.
  • Respond to and resolve complaints, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and neighbour disputes, liaising with external agencies when required.
  • Work with residents to address rent arrears and provide support for financial inclusion and tenancy sustainment.
  • Maintain accurate records on housing management systems, ensuring compliance with data protection and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the delivery of housing policies and initiatives that improve service quality and resident satisfaction.
  • Assist with lettings, allocations, and housing application assessments.

Skills you need

  • Experience in housing management, tenancy support, or social housing administration.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy agreements, and welfare support services.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents and stakeholders.
  • Organised and able to manage a caseload efficiently, prioritising tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in using housing management systems and MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
