FULL DESCRIPTION

Fire Alarm Small Works & Commissioning Engineer

We’re expanding and looking for a skilled Fire Alarm Small Works & Commissioning Engineer to join our friendly, high-performing team. You’ll deliver minor installation works, upgrades, remedials and full commissioning across commercial and residential sites.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver small works: device additions, panel replacements, loop extensions, cause & effect updates, and remedials
  • Commission and handover systems to a high standard, with clear documentation
  • Fault-finding, diagnostics and optimisation to meet project specs and client expectations
  • Liaise with PMs and clients; produce test sheets, as-fitteds and sign-offs
  • Ensure compliance with BS 5839-1:2025 and company QA procedures

What you’ll bring

  • Strong knowledge of BS 5839-1:2025 (essential)
  • Relevant fire alarm qualifications (e.g., FIA/industry equivalents)
  • Proven ability to commission Advanced and Gent fire alarm panels (others a bonus)
  • Solid fault-finding across loops, networks and cause & effect
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Professional, customer-focused approach and tidy documentation skills
