This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. You will be responsible for managing the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with AS9100 / ISO9001 standards, ensuring compliance across all operations.

Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5

Salary: £50,000+ (dependent on experience)

Hours of Work: Full-time

Contract Type: Permanent

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business.

You will be responsible for managing the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with AS9100 / ISO9001 standards, ensuring compliance across all operations.

The role will involve overseeing the day-to-day activity of the inspection department, including managing a team of two inspectors, while also remaining hands-on with inspection tasks.

You will act as the main point of contact for customers regarding quality-related issues, ensuring concerns are addressed effectively and professionally.

Responsibilities will also include coordinating the preparation of inspection documentation such as FAIRs, PPAPs, and detailed inspection reports.

As a key member of the management team, you will take ownership of the company’s quality performance, reporting on KPIs directly to the Directors and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience / Skills Required:

  • Experience managing a Quality Management System (QMS) in line with AS9100 / ISO9001 standards
  • Previous experience conducting and managing both internal and customer audits
  • Strong knowledge and experience within CNC machining environments
  • Hands-on experience with measuring equipment, including CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
  • Experience using PC-DMIS to program CMMs from CAD models
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing or supervising inspection teams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with customers and internal stakeholders
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is required for this role
