FULL DESCRIPTION

Clinical Care Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to join our team as Clinical Care Manager at Vi and John Rubens Nursing Home. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will help shape the delivery of high-quality nursing and care services within our care home with nursing. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will provide visible clinical leadership to nurses and care teams, ensuring care is safe, effective, person-centred and fully compliant with professional and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong clinical leadership to nursing and care teams, ensuring best practice and high standards of care
  • Oversee assessments, care planning and risk management processes
  • Ensure safe medication management, wound care, end of life care and clinical interventions
  • Support admissions and pre-admission assessments to ensure residents’ needs can be safely met
  • Offer guidance and supervision to nurses, team leaders and care staff

Quality, Compliance & Governance

  • Maintain high clinical and care standards in line with CQC regulations
  • Lead clinical audits, quality assurance activities and improvement plans
  • Ensure safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act and DoLS processes are followed
  • Support regulatory reporting, investigations and CQC inspections

Team Leadership & Development

  • Line manage and support nurses and designated team leaders
  • Promote professional development, reflective practice and clinical supervision
  • Support training delivery and ensure compliance with mandatory training
  • Ensure new staff receive a comprehensive induction
  • Champion electronic care systems and digital working

Operational Responsibilities

  • Support rota planning to ensure safe staffing levels and appropriate skill mix
  • Manage incidents, complaints and clinical concerns in a timely and person-centred manner
  • Ensure the care environment remains safe, well-maintained and compliant with health and safety standards

Leadership Support

  • Deputise for the Registered Manager when required, including participating in on-call arrangements
  • Act as a visible and credible clinical leader within the home

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Registered Nurse qualification (RGN or RMN) with current NMC registration
  • NVQ/QCF Level 4 or 5 in Leadership/Management, or willingness to work towards this
  • Experience working in a care home with nursing or similar clinical environment
  • Experience leading and supervising nurses and care staff
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, MCA and DoLS
  • Experience in medication management, emergency care and end of life care
  • Knowledge of nursing care for older people, including dementia and palliative care
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
  • A commitment to person-centred, values-led care

Desirable

  • Dementia care or specialist nursing qualification
