FULL DESCRIPTION

Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

An Estimator / Quantity Surveyor is sought to join our dedicated team with an office base primarily in Derry but with the option to work remotely if desired. Site visits across the UK will be required from time to time. The role will involve traditional responsibilities from high profile commercial developments, to high end domestic schemes. With ownership of projects from contract award through to final account completion, the role will report directly to Commercial Management and will involve close working with the business’ Project Management teams. The right candidate will be ambitious, self-motivated and have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Creating estimates as per client request
  • Liaison with estimating team to take responsibility of projects from contract award through to Final Account agreement
  • Cost management
  • Reporting and forecasting
  • Reporting progress to senior management
  • Supply chain procurement
  • Review and compilation of supply chain contract documentation
  • Management and administration of sub-contractor accounts
  • Measurement, pricing and valuation of post contract variations
  • Producing and submitting applications for payment
  • Client facing contract administration across a number of forms
  • Agreement of Final Accounts

Skills and experience

Experience in an Estimating and Quantity Surveying background is required with good knowledge of the construction industry. Main contractor or subcontract experience will be considered. The candidate will be expected to have good IT skills and be literate in Excel. Knowledge of well used Accounting software, Microsoft Project and CAD would be beneficial.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or other relevant discipline.
