We have a very interesting opportunity for a Director of Clinical Operations to join our team.
This temporary maternity cover position combines two distinct functions within the Clinical Operations and Clinical Governance areas. The person in this position will ensure effective operational management, in line with strategic, contractual and regulatory requirements, maintaining an appropriate separation between clinical operational management, aligned with the Group's strategic plans, and clinical governance oversight, thus ensuring that quality assurance processes remain objective and effective.
Responsibilities key:
- Proporcionar liderazgo operativo clínico a nivel nacional para garantizar una prestación de servicios segura, eficaz y eficiente, en consonancia con los requisitos contractuales, reglamentarios y estratégicos.
- Liderar el desarrollo, la implementación y la mejora del modelo operativo estándar, incluidos los procesos clínicos, la documentación y las tecnologías facilitadoras.
- Proporcionar supervisión independiente de la gobernanza clínica, incluidos los incidentes relacionados con la seguridad del paciente, las investigaciones, los programas de auditoría y el cumplimiento de los requisitos reglamentarios.
- Lead national service improvement, transformation initiatives and workforce development programmes, including competency frameworks, recruitment pathways and structured training.
- Act as the key liaison between clinical teams and enabling functions (operations, commercial, IT etc.) ensuring alignment between clinical delivery and commercial strategy.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Experience working across multi-site healthcare services at a national or regional level.
- Significant experience in leading large-scale service improvement and standardisation projects.
- Strong clinical governance and patient safety capability, with working knowledge of regulatory and assurance frameworks.
- Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality and performance data.
Desirable:
- Registration with a relevant healthcare professional body.
- Experience within specialist clinical services such as rehabilitation, prosthetics/orthotics or wheelchair services.
- Experience supporting mobilisation, transformation or integration of services.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline (level 6 or equivalent experience).
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
Desirable:
- Qualification or formal training in patient safety incident response.
- Training in audit methodology or quality improvement frameworks.
