[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Tax Assistant Manager (CTA qualified) to join their team. The role involves managing a portfolio of clients, providing tax advice, and supervising junior team members. Candidates should have a direct tax background, including both compliance and advisory experience, and a thorough understanding of UK taxes.
What do the team do?
The Tax department works with clients across a broad spectrum, from high net worth individuals through to large corporates and not-for-profit entities. They have an international presence and offer compliance services for complex clients through to delivering exciting projects of an advisory nature. The department operates as one nationally, which gives our people access to a variety of senior staff and assignments, so for this role we are open to hiring into any PB office.
To support with planned growth in 2026, we are looking to hire a tax advisor who can turn their hand to a variety of direct tax related assignments. Your work will include (but not be limited to) corporate reorganisations, business sales and acquisitions, tax due diligence, property tax, share incentives, inheritance & capital gains tax planning, and other ad-hoc projects.

What will I be doing?
As a Tax Assistant Manager you will have ownership of the following tasks:
- Controlling own portfolio of clients, monitoring WIP and client costs
- Planning jobs, instructing juniors and their reviewing work, ensuring the provision of constructive feedback at all times
- Undertaking and supervising tax advisory work so that it requires final review only, as well as reviewing complex tax compliance work
- Providing effective tax advice to clients, both directly and through portfolio managers in the Audit and Accounts teams throughout the firm
- Displaying pro-active awareness of current relevant legislation, compliance standards and potential advantages, relating them to client situations
- Assisting with proposals and presentations to potential clients
What experience do I need?
Whilst having the following experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below and are eager to develop yourself, we would love to hear from you:
- CTA newly/recently qualified (minimum criteria)
- A direct tax background including both compliance and advisory experience (minimum criteria)
- At least 50% of time spent undertaking tax advisory work in most recent role
- Experience managing client relationships and reviewing the work of junior team members
- A thorough understanding of UK taxes that apply to small and medium sized enterprises & their owners, in particular companies and individuals
- Strong communication and report writing skill
