Experienced Pump Fitter

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Services Ltd is seeking an experienced pump fitter to work in their fitting shop in Adlington, Cheshire. The role involves repairing and reassembling pumping equipment, performing hydrostatic tests, and reporting on equipment condition. The successful candidate will work alongside other fitters, with occasional site work in the UK and potential for overseas work.

Summary of Duties:

  • Disassembly of customer’s pumping equipment in need of repair/overhaul.
  • Providing written reports to the general office on equipment condition to include recommendation of replacement components, cleaning and repair existing components, photographing equipment in support of report.
  • Reassembly of equipment and finishing to high standard incl. painting.
  • Performing hydrostatic tests and reporting results.
  • Reporting to Works Manager, scheduling daily tasks and managing own priorities.
  • Organisation of own workstation.
  • General housekeeping and health and safety in Fitting Shop.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required:

  • Time served manufacturing experience desirable.
  • Mechanical or Production Engineering background to minimum HNC level (or equivalent).
  • Must be familiar with mechanical engineering operations.
  • Essential: ability to read and understand technical drawings and have a Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Knowledge of, interest in, lean manufacturing and value engineering.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise on technical issues with both internal and external customers.
  • Experience with pumping equipment would be an advantage.
