Senior Lecturer in Property Law

About the Role

The Senior Lecturer in Property Law (Teaching & Research) will contribute to the intellectual life of the Department, focusing particularly on teaching and research in the field of Property Law (particularly Land Law and Equity & Trusts), and contributing to other teaching activities within the Department as needed.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full-time, permanent appointment, with an expected start date of 01 August 2026. The starting salary will be Grade 7, £64,331 - £71,834 per annum depending on experience, inclusive of London Allowance.

About You

You will have a PhD, or relevant professional qualification, or equivalent professional experience, and a track-record of high-quality research, including publications in national and international journals, with clear and ambitious plans for future research.  You will have experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level and an understanding of student support. A higher education teaching accreditation is desirable.

The School of Law is one of eight schools in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and has two organisational units: the Department of Law and the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS). Established in 1965, the Department of Law runs thriving undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and has a well-established international reputation for innovative research.
