Job Title: Support Worker – Criminal Justice

Location: Taunton
Salary: £25,685 per year
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

About the Role: Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable adults? We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team in Taunton, providing high-quality support to individuals involved with the criminal justice system. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with external agencies, criminal justice services, and clients to promote positive outcomes and reintegration into the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive and effective working relationships with external agencies, including criminal justice services.
  • Complete needs and risk assessments for clients, leading to tailored support plans.
  • Provide advice and information to empower clients to access appropriate services and accommodation.
  • Ensure all new clients understand their rights, responsibilities, and licence conditions.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota as required.

Experience & Requirements:

  • Experience working with vulnerable adults and/or people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a car for business purposes (business insurance required for work-related travel).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information:

  • You will be expected to participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours support.
  • Travel across the local area may be required, so a valid driver’s licence and insured vehicle are essential.
