FULL DESCRIPTION

Production Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble products in line with documented build instructions and quality standards.
  • Complete rework and repair activities on production and returned units as required.
  • Diagnose faults identified during build, rework, or returns activity.
  • Carry out component-level repair and rework on PCBs, including surface mount and through-hole components.
  • Use electronic test and measurement equipment to support fault-finding and confirm repairs.
  • Liaise with Production Test to support the investigation of faults identified through existing test processes.
  • Escalate recurring faults, build issues, or suspected design-related concerns to the appropriate function.
  • Maintain appropriate records of diagnostics, repairs, rework actions, and outcomes where required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities aimed at reducing faults and improving build efficiency.

About You

  • Experience working in an electronics production, manufacturing, or repair environment.
  • Practical understanding of electronic circuits and systems.
  • Strong fault-finding skills, including diagnosis at board and component level.
  • Proven ability to carry out surface mount and through-hole soldering to a high standard.
  • Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies).
  • Ability to follow documented build, test, and repair procedures accurately.
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a production team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
