From September 2026, we are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled LAMDA Teacher to deliver high‑quality lessons to pupils in individual or small‑group settings. The successful candidate will inspire confidence, nurture performance skills, and prepare students effectively for LAMDA examinations through weekly or fortnightly sessions.

Job Title: Teacher of LAMDA (Bank)

Reports to: Director of Drama & Dance

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that appropriate preparation and practice work is set for pupils between classes.
  • To enter pupils for suitable LAMDA qualifications including the sourcing of appropriate monologues, duologues and scenes, in consultation with the Director of Drama & Dance.
  • To keep the Director of Drama & Dance informed of pupils’ progress through regular informal updates.
  • To provide parents with updates on pupils’ progress through end‑of‑term reports.

Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • Possess a LAMDA teaching qualification or equivalent (e.g., LAMDA Teaching Diploma or recognised speech and drama teaching certification).
  • Experience preparing pupils for LAMDA examinations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire confidence and engagement.
  • Ability to deliver effective one‑to‑one and small‑group teaching.
  • Good organisational and time‑management skills.

Desirable

  • Possess a relevant degree in Drama, Performing Arts, English, or a related discipline.
  • Additional training in voice, speech, or performance techniques.
  • Experience teaching a range of ages and abilities.
  • Experience within a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with multiple LAMDA strands (e.g., Acting, Verse & Prose, Public Speaking).
  • Ability to contribute creatively to the wider Drama & Dance department.
