FULL DESCRIPTION
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] has two vacancies within our dedicated Domestic Services team. As a Cleaner, you will be part of a friendly and hardworking team committed to keeping both the internal and external areas of the College clean, well-presented and welcoming.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- To carry out cleaning duties across designated areas of the College, such as common rooms, corridors, stairwells, bathrooms, toilets, showers, bedrooms, kitchens, public spaces and teaching rooms. These areas may vary from time to time in line with operational needs.
- To prepare rooms and spaces as required for teaching, events, courses or meetings.
- To drive College vehicles around the campus where required, provided the postholder holds a valid driving licence. This is desirable but not essential, and training will be provided where appropriate.
- To move furniture and equipment as needed, which may include tasks requiring moderate lifting, following appropriate manual‑handling guidelines.
- To transport bagged general waste and recycling to the designated collection points safely.
- To carry out ground‑floor window cleaning.
- To ensure cleaning tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
- To help maintain the safety and security of allocated areas.
- To follow all College Health & Safety policies and Codes of Practice.
- To comply with COSHH regulations and ensure the safe use, storage and handling of cleaning chemicals.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as assigned by the line manager.
Skills and Experience:
Essential
- Experience of cleaning within a school or similar education environment.
- Customer‑service oriented, with polite, friendly communication skills and a positive ‘can‑do’ attitude.
- A supportive team player who is willing, cheerful, and adaptable.
- Takes pride in delivering a high‑quality service, paying attention to detail.
- Proactive in identifying and suggesting improvements to enhance the service.
- Ability to undertake moderately heavy manual handling tasks, following appropriate safety guidelines.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Manual Handling regulations.
- Hold a full, clean driving licence.
- Possess a First Aid qualification.
