We are delighted to offer a University Year Placement within our Payroll Team, based at our Norwich office. This placement is ideal for students with a placement year planned between their 2nd and 3rd year of study, and will run during the 2026/2027 academic year. It provides a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in a professional environment.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally, you’ll be working towards a relevant degree or a professional qualification such as AAT, as well as having a Grade 4-9 in Maths and English Language at GCSE or equivalent.
  • Ideally you will also be competent of using Microsoft packages, internet, email and computerised accounts packages.

Responsibilities

  • With support and training, assist in preparing basic payrolls from start to finish. Liaise with clients and HMRC to resolve queries, taking control of all regulatory submissions, deadlines and ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Taking an interest in the client’s values and business needs to develop good working relationships.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently.
  • Organise your workload, particularly in peak periods, ensuring deadlines are met and communicating with the team around you to ensure work flows smoothly.

Requirements

This is for a full time (37.5 hours per week) year placement, with an anticipated start date in early September.
