To support the Head of compliance, suppliers & technical packaging, Technical Packaging Manager and Suppliers Assurance Manager in ensuring compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The role will focus on maintaining technical documentation, monitoring supplier compliance, and assisting with packaging and quality assurance processes.

Location: Redhill, Surrey. Hybrid working, 2 days working from home per week
Summary:
To support the Head of compliance, suppliers & technical packaging, Technical Packaging Manager and Suppliers Assurance Manager in ensuring compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The role will focus on maintaining technical documentation, monitoring supplier compliance, and assisting with packaging and quality assurance processes.
Reporting Line: Head of compliance, suppliers & technical packaging (HCSP)
Direct Reports: None
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Compliance Management:
- Support implementation and maintenance of technical compliance programs across packaging and supplier assurance functions.
- Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal policies.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records, technical specifications, and audit documentation.
- Prepare compliance reports and summaries for internal stakeholders and external audits.
Supplier Assurance Support:
- Assist in monitoring supplier performance against agreed standards and specifications.
- Assist in coordinating supplier audits and tracking follow‑up actions to ensure corrective measures are completed.
- Support management of Approved Supplier List and Supplier Quality Management processes.
Packaging Compliance Support:
- Work closely with the Technical Packaging Manager to ensure packaging materials meet UK & EU regulatory and sustainability requirements.
- Support packaging trials and validation processes, ensuring documentation is complete and compliant.
- Assist in maintaining and updating packaging database systems.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline compliance processes and improve efficiency.
- Support training initiatives for internal teams and suppliers on compliance requirements.
Essential Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
- Food science / technology qualifications or equivalent
- Interest in sustainability and helping achieve sustainability goals
- Understanding of food safety systems, HACCP, BRC
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people at different levels
- Ability to challenge others in a respectful way
- Strong levels of analytical & curiosity & ability to cross-check information
- Good at planning and organising workload to meet deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team and to work on own initiative
- Strong attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to deliver pro- active and reactive support
- Proficiency using key software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams etc…)
- Be able to travel in the UK & EU as and when required
- Clean driving license (1 year +)
Desirable Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
- Experience in technical compliance within FMCG, manufacturing, or packaging sectors.
- Familiarity with supplier quality management processes.
- Auditing skills and experience
- Understanding of sustainability and environmental compliance in packaging.
- Familiarity with retailers packaging data reporting portals
- Basic understanding OPRL logos and requirements
- Basic understanding of packaging materials and processes
