Demand Planner

The Role

We are currently looking to recruit a Demand Planner to work within our Operations function. The Demand Planner is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts to ensure optimal inventory levels and product availability across the portfolio. This role collaborates closely with Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to align forecasts with business objectives, supporting patient access and minimizing supply risks.

What will you be doing?

As a Demand Planner, you will be responsible for a variety of different tasks including:

  • Forecasting – Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term demand forecasts using statistical models and market intelligence. Analyse historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to improve forecast accuracy.
  • S&OP Meetings – Participate in monthly S&OP meetings with the internal commercial teams for all relevant channels to assist in the formalising of the monthly forecasts.
  • Supply vs Demand – Support on review meetings with the Supply Leads to establish areas where we face challenges to supply the required demand.
  • Risks / Opportunities – Identify risks and opportunities within the portfolio, propose changes where the forecast is not aligned or opportunity presents itself, raise concerns where we will face customer penalties.
  • KPI Reporting - Identify root causes for demand errors and support business units to address them. Assess error impact and perform recalculation and continuous improvement techniques where needed and actively work to improve KPIs.
  • Stakeholders - Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to leverage performance and find solutions to problems and optimise the flow of information.
  • SOPs – Implement and/or improve existing Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions to ensure they are fit for purpose and complete.

The Person

Related Experience:

  • 2+ years in demand planning or forecasting, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Familiarity with S&OP processes and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Ability to use, organise and assess data to inform business decisions.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Advanced excel skills
  • Strong communication skills
