The Opportunity

We're supporting a housing provider to appoint a Legionella (Water) Compliance Specialist to bring structure, oversight, and technical assurance to a developing compliance area.

This is a hands-on role focused on moving the organisation from a fragmented position to clear, confident compliance - combining site-level understanding with strong knowledge of legislation, policy, and best practice.

---

The Role

  • Lead on Legionella compliance across the housing portfolio
  • Review current position and provide a clear gap analysis across policy, process, and delivery
  • Process map end-to-end compliance activity - from risk assessments through to remedial actions
  • Ensure effective response to risk assessments, including tracking and closing actions
  • Oversee delivery of key works such as tank removals, remedials, and system improvements
  • Review and refine policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks
  • Work closely with contractors to assess what's working vs not working
  • Provide practical, delivery-focused oversight - not just advisory
  • Support the organisation to reach a sustainable and auditable compliant position

---

About You

  • Strong working knowledge of Legionella control, relevant legislation, and ACOP L8 guidance
  • Experience in housing, public sector, or complex property portfolios
  • Able to operate across both technical compliance and operational delivery
  • Proven experience managing contractors and remedial programmes
  • Comfortable carrying out site-based reviews and validation activity
  • Able to clearly identify gaps and implement practical, workable solutions
  • Detail-oriented, structured, and confident working independently
