[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Group are looking for Forensic Healthcare Professionalsto join the team in West Mercia Custody. The custody suites are Telford & Shrewsbury. This is an exciting role where you will work alongside police officers to assess and treat individuals who are detained in police custody.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver forensic practitioner services in compliance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and local protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and complete timely documentation, including injury record and log all activities using current systems.
  • Advise and support custody officers in assessing detainees’ healthcare needs and prioritising care, consulting the Forensic Medical Examiner as needed.
  • Assess detainees’ fitness for detention, interview, understanding of charges and release.
  • Evaluate alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registered Nurse or paramedic with minimum of 3 years’ service.
  • Full membership of the NMC or HCPC
  • Must have a full UK driving license with access to your own vehicle for business use
  • Competent in oral and written English.
  • Have been continuously resident in the UK for at least 3 years.
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Ability to be cleared through the Police Vetting system: Level 2 NPPV clearance.
