FULL DESCRIPTION

The Technical Review Panel (TRP) is a body of technical experts who help to ensure that projects and methodologies submitted under our carbon Standard (PV Climate) adhere to the requirements in their respective programs, with regard to the estimation and monitoring of carbon benefits. Engagement in the panel is non-committal and work is ad hoc. TRP members are invited to take part in reviews that are relevant to their specific area(s) of expertise.

The role

For more than 25 years [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] has certified community-led projects that protect and restore crucial ecosystems and strengthen local livelihoods. Our role is to ensure these projects are of the highest quality - and are recognised, valued, and fairly compensated for the impact they deliver. The Technical Review Panel (TRP) is a body of technical experts who help to ensure that projects and methodologies submitted under our carbon Standard (PV Climate) adhere to the requirements in their respective programs, with regard to the estimation and monitoring of carbon benefits. Engagement in the panel is non-committal and work is ad hoc. TRP members are invited to take part in reviews that are relevant to their specific area(s) of expertise.

What are we looking for?

TRP Representatives must have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Existing certification in relevant GHG accounting for forest and land-use projects, such as GHGMI (mandatory if none of the other options apply)
  • Practical experience in the development, delivery, and/or validation/verification of AFOLU projects applying similar carbon benefit methodologies
  • Evidence of relevant training for carbon benefit methodology application
  • Ability to review project intervention(s) and methodology(ies) applied by the given project

How to apply

If you are interested in becoming a member of the PV Climate TRP, you can apply by:

  • Complete the application form
  • Submit your Curriculum Vitae (CV), a conflict of interest declaration form, and a one-page summary of your relevant experience in relation to the requirements in Section 6 of the TRP Terms of Reference to[contact hidden]

Care should be made to draw attention to experience with carbon methodologies from respective Standards within the Voluntary Carbon Market or other (e.g. academic) carbon quantification experience.

Successful applicants

Based on the needs of [Employer hidden], new members will be invited to join the TRP for a 3-year term. Renewal of TRP membership after the 3-year term is at the discretion of the TRP and the [Employer hidden] Secretariat.

Approved TRP Members are listed on a publicly available roster. New TRP Members must provide a description of their areas of expertise and current affiliation for publication on the [Employer hidden] Website.

It is the responsibility of each member to promptly notify [Employer hidden] of any changes to this information.

Termination

TRP Representatives can terminate their participation in the TRP at any time by giving 4 weeks’ notice in writing, unless otherwise agreed with [Employer hidden].

The [Employer hidden] Board of Trustees and Secretariat reserve the right to terminate TRP Membership without notice if there is a risk of reputational damage to [Employer hidden] or [Employer hidden] projects.
